Step forward the Shoreditch House Rooms: Hotel/guest rooms bolted on to the elusive and fashionable Shoreditch House. It seems to be the place where 20-30 something media and fashion world darlings congregate for meetings, R&R and parties.
It's been on my hit list for a while and we finally ventured down there late last year. In terms of finding the place, Shoreditch House takes understatement to a new level, no signage or branding on the street whatsoever. I quite like that about it though, it makes it more private and mysterious.
Our room was a 'small' room, small but perfectly formed and actually really good value for money. Our room had really high ceilings which made it feel quite spacious. The rooms are basic but they have spent money on the important things like the bed linen and towels. The bed was huge (which always makes me happy being 5'9") and extremely comfortable, we had a great night's sleep.
Stepping away from the room we went for an early dinner in the rooftop restaurant. It was a Sunday so we both had a roast dinner. The portion sizes were huge and the waiters were very friendly and attentive, one of them kept winking at both of us, subsequently my husband nicknamed him the 'winking waiter' ha!
